About The Role

Empact Technologies is seeking a qualified Project Compliance Specialist to join our fast-growing Compliance team in a dynamic startup setting, emphasizing innovation, flexibility, and teamwork.

As a Project Compliance Specialist, you will work directly with our internal Project Compliance team to ensure projects are in compliance with applicable requirements.  

This role requires exceptional analytical, organizational and communication skills.  

The responsibilities of the Project Compliance Specialist include but are not limited to 

  • Manage weekly EPC and subcontractor payroll data review for accuracy, reporting and creation of weekly reports.  
  • Evaluate projects for prevailing wage & apprenticeship compliance, then work with the Project Compliance Manager and Contractors to rectify any identified issues  
  • Monitor and assess project activities to identify potential compliance risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.  
  • Assist in pre-qualifying projects and review required data and documentation for tax incentive adders such as Energy Community and Low-Income Community  

Requirements:  

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in compliance management, including auditing WH347/CPRs or a similar role in the construction industry.  
  • Solid understanding of prevailing wage compliance (ie. Davis-Bacon or California State requirements), construction, payroll and relevant regulations is highly desired.  
  • Strong problem-solving skills, highly analytical, high level of accuracy and extreme attention to detail  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage effectively in video meetings  
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.  
  • Effective time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel including creating pivots tables and executing VLOOKUP functions.  

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience as a project assistant, coordinator, analyst, administrator or similar. 
  • Experience with apprenticeship programs, monitoring and reporting apprentice participation, apprentice-to-journeyperson ratios, etc.  
  • Experience with using compliance management software or tools such as LCPtracker, Elations, E-Bacon, B2Gnow, PRISM, SkillSmart, etc. is highly desired  
  • Experience with payroll software (e.g. ADP, Paychex, Viewpoint, QuickBooks, Foundation software, etc.) and project management software (Monday.com)  
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, supply chain, construction management, legal studies, finance, or related field.  

This position is 100% remote although preference will be given to candidates in the Houston or Denver metropolitan areas.
